Midjourney API pricing

Two ways to pay: a flat monthly fee with no request limit, or $0.04 per request. Both are per Discord account. You can try everything on 50 free requests first.

Prices

PlanPricePer monthAPI requests
Free pack$0-50 requests
Pay per request$0.04 / requestDepends on usagePrepaid, minimum top-up $8 (200 requests)
Monthly$25$25Unlimited
Quarterly-10%$67.50$22.50Unlimited
Annual-18%$246$20.50Unlimited

Each price is for one Discord account added in the dashboard. There are no feature tiers: every plan has all API methods (imagine, upscale, variation, blend, describe, animate, inpaint, zoom, pan and the rest), webhooks, rotation between your accounts and account schedules.

Monthly plan or pay per request?

Simple math: $25 / $0.04 = 625. If you make more than 625 requests a month, the monthly plan is cheaper. For the quarterly plan the threshold is about 563 a month, for the annual one about 513. Or just type your number:

Pay per request$40 / month
Monthly plan$25 / month
Quarterly plan$22.50 / monthbilled $67.50
Annual plan$20.50 / monthcheapest
Per Discord account, without the Midjourney subscription.

How requests are counted

  • One task is one request. So imagine plus an upscale of one image from the grid is two requests.
  • GET /midjourney/v2/status is not counted, so poll as often as you like (or use a webhook_url and don't poll at all).
  • On pay-per-request the request is taken from your balance when the task reaches done.

How many Discord accounts?

To start, one. Midjourney only runs a few jobs at a time per account, so once you have real volume it makes sense to add more accounts to the same API key. Requests without account_hash are then spread across them evenly.

We usually advise several accounts on Basic or Standard rather than one Pro or Mega. How to add an account is described in the first steps.

Getting started

Register, add a Discord account and spend the 50 free requests on testing. Code to copy from is here: Python, Node.js and PHP.

Try it on 50 free requests

Register, add a Discord account that has Midjourney, and you get an API key. The first 50 requests are free and you don't need to enter a card. Since 2023 more than 10,000 people have signed up and sent over 8 million requests through the API.

Questions

Is the Midjourney subscription included?

No. Generation runs on your own Discord account, so you pay Midjourney for your plan as usual. What you pay us for is the API on top of it.

Unlimited means unlimited?

On the monthly, quarterly and annual plans we don't count requests at all. The practical limit is your Midjourney plan: Fast hours, Relax mode and how many jobs Midjourney runs at once.

Do I pay per API key or per Discord account?

Per Discord account. If you add three accounts to one key to spread the load, each of them needs a plan.

What counts as one request on pay-per-request?

Every task you start: imagine, upscale, variation, blend, describe and so on. It is counted when the task finishes with status done. Checking a task through the status endpoint is not a request.

Why is the minimum $8?

That is the smallest top-up for pay-per-request. It buys 200 requests at $0.04.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes, there is a free pack of 50 requests. It can be activated once per user.
